Lysistrata, “she who unties armies,” convinces the women of Athens and Sparta, Boeotia, and Corinth to join her in a sex strike that will end only when the men decide to end the war. She also seizes the state treasury, drives away the archers, discusses economics and politics, and finally prevails and secures peace.
